When bride Ali was looking for an iconic spot for her Columbia bridal session, she decided that she couldn’t go more iconic than the South Carolina State House!
With wide, sweeping stairs, intricate architectural details, and a lush garden surrounding it, this political hot spot is a surprisingly perfect place for a bridal session.
Along with her mom, her friend Casey, andyr7t66 photographer Katie Jaynes, Ali wandered the State House grounds in search of the perfect portrait spot. The two found several lovely locales and managed to capture the essence of South Carolina’s capital (and Capitol!).
Making Rainbows from Rain Clouds
Photographer Katie is cousins with Ali’s fiancé and was delighted to welcome her to the family. “[Ali] is not only gorgeous and the sweetest bride, but she cares deeply for others and gives Brent a run for his money with her wittiness and humor!” says Katie.
When the day of the bridal sessions dawned, there were a series of storm clouds looming. Katie offered to reschedule because of the weather: “It was rainy and gloomy all weekend, but in true Ali fashion, she was determined to do them anyway! I love her “we’ll make it work” attitude.”
The two hoped that the stormy weather would move along, and they got their wish! Says photographer Katie, “The sky cleared, and we were blessed with perfect weather just in time for the bridal session!”
